SESSION 1: Life of Women Survivor of Prostitution In-Person

Alma is a dedicated advocate for women's and children's rights, with over three decades of experience in community organizing and social work. Born on October 6, 1961, she worked as a waitress and entertainer before becoming an Executive Director and now the President of Buklod Center Inc. and the Philippine Against Child Trafficking Olongapo (PACT-Olongapo). Her leadership has empowered vulnerable individuals to transition away from exploitation and has led to significant policy changes in anti-prostitution and anti-trafficking efforts in Olongapo City.
With a strong educational background, she is currently completing her BS in Social Work at the Philippine Women's University, supported by years of training in gender advocacy, anti-trafficking, and community mobilization. Her achievements include assisting women in obtaining vocational education, providing legal support to victims, and advocating for critical legislation. Recognized with multiple awards for her contributions to human rights, she continues to inspire others through her work in various national and international coalitions addressing trafficking and violence against women and children.
